Project Overview

The University of South Carolina pursued a major expansion and renovation of the Med Park 15 Building in Columbia, South Carolina, to establish the Brain Health Institute. The project encompassed extensive interior and exterior renovations of the existing 75,000 GSF facility, along with a new addition housing two state-of-the-art MRI suites. The scope included structural upgrades for vibration control, acoustic isolation, and electromagnetic shielding, along with outpatient clinics, diagnostic rooms, interdisciplinary therapy spaces, and research facilities. Upgraded building systems, improved accessibility, life safety compliance, and sustainable design certification completed a technically demanding $25 million program. The client engaged PRESWERX to develop a competitive proposal and presentation for the selection.

Client Challenges

The client needed to communicate a technically complex, multi-program scope as a unified pursuit narrative:

  • Translating specialized MRI infrastructure requirements into clear, compelling language for a broad evaluation panel

  • Differentiating the team's expertise in a competitive field of qualified construction management firms

  • Visualizing design quality and program intent across a mixed-use healthcare and research facility

  • Preparing the team for a live interview with confidence and precision

Every element of the pursuit called for technical credibility paired with strategic clarity.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a full pursuit package for the Brain Health Institute pursuit, spanning written proposal, presentation materials, and live interview coaching. The proposal articulated the team's technical approach to the project's most demanding systems, translating MRI suite requirements, structural upgrades, and building systems modernization into a narrative built for the evaluation committee. Presentation materials brought the full scope of the renovation and new addition to life visually, reinforcing the team's understanding of the project's complexity. Interview coaching prepared team members to deliver key messages with confidence, consistency, and command of the technical content.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the engagement as a strategic partner, working to align the client's technical depth with a pursuit story that would connect with evaluators. The team:

  • Distilled the project's most complex technical requirements into accessible, evaluator-focused language across the proposal narrative

  • Developed presentation visuals that reinforced the team's command of scope, phasing, and program integration

  • Coached team members through live interview preparation, sharpening delivery and building confidence across all presenters

The result was a cohesive pursuit package that positioned the client as thoroughly prepared and deeply credible going into the selection.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete, polished pursuit package that held the client's technical story to the highest standard of clarity and persuasion. The work produced:

  • A proposal that translated specialized MRI systems and infrastructure requirements into a structured, evaluator-ready narrative

  • Presentation materials that gave the selection panel a clear picture of the team's scope understanding and program approach

  • Interview-ready presenters who entered the room with consistent messaging, well-practiced delivery, and full command of the material

The client team stepped into the selection process prepared, confident, and well-positioned to make a strong impression.
