Project Overview

The University of Central Florida pursued Phase II of its Performing Arts Complex on its Orlando campus, a $77 million project encompassing 122,800 gross square feet. Phase I, occupied in 2010, established Theatre and Music buildings intended as the foundation for a larger complex. Phase II, consolidated from two previously planned phases per the 2020-30 Campus Master Plan, represented the completion of that long-held campus vision. The client served as general contractor and needed a pursuit package capable of communicating the scale and significance of this landmark project. PRESWERX partnered with the client's team to produce the renderings and animations for the selection.

Client Challenges

The client needed to present the completion of a decades-in-the-making performing arts complex to a university owner with an established architectural vision and high expectations for design continuity:

  • Communicating how a 122,800-square-foot Phase II addition would complete and enhance the existing complex while honoring the design intent established by Phase I.

  • Visualizing a large, program-rich performing arts facility for a university owner evaluating a $77 million investment in its cultural infrastructure.

  • Differentiating the client in a competitive selection for a high-profile campus project with deep institutional history and long-planned significance.

Together, these challenges required visuals that could honor both the project's scale and its place in UCF's multi-decade campus vision.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced architectural renderings and animations for the UCF Performing Arts Complex Phase II pursuit. The renderings illustrated the new building's exterior design and its relationship to the existing Phase I Theatre and Music buildings, capturing how the 122,800-square-foot addition would complete the complex envisioned in the campus master plan. The animations conveyed the building's massing, program, and connection to the surrounding campus in a dynamic format suited for a university selection presentation. Together, the deliverables gave the client's team a polished visual package that made a long-planned campus vision feel immediate and achievable.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX framed the visual work around the project's institutional narrative, building a package that communicated Phase II not just as a new building but as the completion of a campus vision decades in the making.

  • Developed renderings that showed the new addition's exterior character and its continuity with the existing Phase I Theatre and Music buildings.

  • Produced animations that conveyed the scale and program of a 122,800-squarefoot performing arts facility in a format appropriate for a competitive university presentation.

  • Calibrated the visual language to reflect the long-range significance of a project planned across three consecutive UCF campus master plans.

The result was a visual package that made the client's case for a $77 million investment in UCF's performing arts future.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a set of visual assets that gave the client's team a compelling, campus-context presentation package for one of UCF's most anticipated facilities.

  • Renderings provided the university with a concrete visual reference for Phase II's exterior design and its integration with the existing Performing Arts Complex.

  • Animations communicated the facility's scale and program in a dynamic format that brought the long-planned complex to life for a selection audience.

  • The combined visual package positioned the client's team to present a persuasive case for a project with significant campus-wide meaning and institutional momentum.

The client's team entered the selection with a visual story that matched the institutional weight of completing a multi-decade campus master plan commitment.
