Project Overview

Miami-Dade County pursued Phases 3 through 9 of The Underline, a linear park and trail corridor running beneath the Miami Metrorail line across the city. The $120 million project extended the existing path from 3 to 10 miles, creating a continuous, sheltered route connecting neighborhoods and providing a safe travel corridor for cyclists and pedestrians. The project represented a significant investment in Miami's active transportation and public recreation infrastructure. The client served as contractor and needed a presentation package to support the pursuit. PRESWERX partnered with the client's team to develop the presentation strategy and deliver direct coaching ahead of the selection.

Client Challenges

The client needed to present a large-scale, multi-phase linear infrastructure project to a county transportation authority with a clear vision for how the completed trail corridor would serve Miami's communities:

  • Communicating a complex, phased scope spanning seven project phases and seven additional miles of trail construction to a public owner managing a $120 million transportation investment.

  • Building a cohesive narrative that connected the project's infrastructure elements to its broader civic purpose as a neighborhood connector and recreational destination.

  • Preparing the client's team for a competitive county selection presentation with the delivery confidence and narrative clarity the scope demanded.

Together, these challenges required a presentation strategy that could translate a large infrastructure program into a compelling, community-focused pursuit story.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed the presentation strategy and materials for The Underline Phases 3-9 pursuit and delivered direct coaching to prepare the client's team for the selection. The presentation package was built to communicate the scope and civic significance of a seven-phase, seven-mile trail expansion to a public county owner. PRESWERX worked with the client's team to organize the pursuit narrative, sharpen the delivery of key content, and prepare presenters to speak confidently about a complex infrastructure program in a live interview setting. The coaching focused on clarity, pacing, and connecting the team's qualifications to the county's community and transportation goals.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the engagement with a focus on building a clear, civiccentered narrative that could carry the weight of a $120 million public infrastructure selection.

  • Developed presentation materials that organized the client's qualifications and approach around the Underline's identity as both a transportation corridor and a community destination.

  • Structured the pursuit narrative to address the county's priorities, connecting the phased construction scope to the broader goal of extending safe, accessible trail access across Miami.

  • Coached the client's team on delivery, pacing, and interview response structure to ensure a confident, well-rehearsed performance in front of a public owner.

The result was a team that entered the selection with a clear story and the preparation to tell it under pressure.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a presentation package and coaching program that gave the client's team the tools to make a compelling case to Miami-Dade County for a $120 million trail expansion.

  • The presentation materials organized a complex, multi-phase infrastructure scope into a coherent, community-centered narrative suited for a public county selection.

  • Coaching gave the client's team the delivery precision and narrative confidence needed to present a technically demanding program with clarity and conviction.

  • The combined preparation positioned the client as a team that understood both how to build the Underline and what the project meant to the communities it would serve.

The client's team entered the selection with a well-structured story and a rehearsed delivery ready for a competitive public infrastructure interview.
