Project Overview

The Judiciary Complex, Annex, and Renovation Project involved Henderson County's plan to expand and renovate its courthouse and detention facility in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The scope combined a 94,315 square foot courthouse addition and 99,100 square feet of courthouse renovation with a 58,069 square foot detention facility addition and 62,462 square feet of detention facility renovation, along with extensive building systems upgrades. Valued at $150 million, the project called for a construction manager at risk to lead programming, cost estimating, and bid administration for a scope still being finalized. The client engaged PRESWERX to develop the presentation, renderings, animations, and film needed to support the pursuit.

Client Challenges

Pursuing a $150 million courthouse and detention facility program with an undefined final scope presented a distinct challenge for the team:

  • Communicating a program spanning four separate additions and renovations across two secure facility types.

  • Presenting a construction manager at risk approach to programming and cost estimating before design criteria were finalized.

  • Standing out in a high value, highly scrutinized public sector pursuit.

These factors called for a presentation strategy built on organization and credibility.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed the full pursuit presentation package for the Judiciary Complex, Annex, and Renovation Project. The team built a presentation deck that addressed the courthouse addition and renovation, the detention facility addition and renovation, and the associated building systems work. Renderings and animations depicted the proposed additions and their relationship to the existing courthouse and detention facility. A film supported the presentation by conveying the scale and civic importance of the project to Henderson County. PRESWERX also provided presentation coaching to prepare the team's speakers for the interview.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the pursuit by organizing a complex, multi facility program into a clear and confident narrative. The team:

  • Structured the presentation to separately address the courthouse and detention facility scopes while tying them to one project vision.

  • Produced renderings, animations, and a film that gave reviewers a tangible sense of the finished complex.

  • Coached presenters on communicating the construction manager at risk approach to programming and cost estimating for a scope still in development.

The result was a presentation that made a large, multi part public project easy to follow.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete presentation package held to the standard of a $150 million public sector pursuit. Every deliverable was built to withstand a demanding review process.

  • The presentation deck gave reviewers a clear, organized account of the courthouse and detention facility scopes.

  • The renderings, animations, and film gave the county a tangible sense of the finished complex.

  • The presentation coaching prepared the team's speakers for a confident, detailed interview.

The client entered the interview with a presentation as thorough and well organized as the project it represented.
