Project Overview

A global energy technology leader pursued a major expansion at its Charlotte, North Carolina campus, proposing a large-scale steel-framed building addition to an existing manufacturing structure at 5101 Westinghouse Boulevard. The project, valued at $421 million, represented a significant investment in domestic manufacturing capacity. The client team competing for the work faced the challenge of communicating a technically complex construction program to a sophisticated owner with exacting standards. PRESWERX was engaged to develop the full pursuit package, including proposal writing, presentation design, presentation coaching, renderings, and animations to position the team competitively.

Client Challenges

Competing for a $421 million industrial expansion required the client to bridge a gap between construction expertise and owner-facing communication. Several distinct challenges shaped the pursuit strategy:

  • Translating a technically dense scope, including structural steel framing and soil/vapor mitigation considerations, into a clear, compelling narrative for the owner's evaluation team.

  • Visualizing a large building addition to an existing facility before a single element of construction had begun.

  • Differentiating the team in a high-value competitive procurement where multiple qualified contractors were likely vying for the same opportunity.

  • Preparing spokespeople to deliver a confident, owner-focused message during a live oral selection presentation.

Each of these challenges pointed to the same need: a pursuit partner capable of shaping both the written story and the visual experience that would define the team's competitive identity.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX delivered a comprehensive pursuit package tailored to the demands of a major industrial project in a competitive selection environment. Proposal writing services shaped the narrative arc of the client's written submission, ensuring scored sections addressed the owner's evaluation criteria with clarity and precision. A full presentation design effort produced a visual framework for the oral selection phase, organized to guide evaluators through the team's qualifications and project approach. Renderings depicted the proposed building addition in its site context, giving the owner a clear picture of the finished facility. Animations brought the construction sequence and key project concepts to life in a format designed for live presentation settings. Presentation coaching prepared the client team's spokespeople to deliver their story with confidence and composure under selection conditions.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the engagement as a strategic pursuit partner, working to align every deliverable with the owner's evaluator framework and the client team's competitive objectives. The work was structured to reinforce a unified message across both written and visual channels:

  • Proposal content was developed to address scored evaluation criteria directly, framing the client's approach to the building addition in terms that resonated with an owner focused on manufacturing continuity, site logistics, and technical execution.

  • Renderings and animations were produced to close the visualization gap, giving the owner's team a tangible sense of what the completed expansion would look like and how construction would be sequenced.

  • Presentation coaching sessions were designed around the specific dynamics of a live oral selection, sharpening the team's message delivery, anticipating evaluator questions, and building the composure needed to perform under real selection conditions.

The result was a fully integrated pursuit package in which every element, from the written proposal to the coached presentation, worked together to advance the client's position in the procurement process.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a full suite of pursuit materials calibrated to the expectations of a $421 million industrial selection. Each deliverable was held to the standard of a high-value, owner-driven procurement where quality of communication directly influences evaluator perception:

  • The written proposal gave evaluators a clear, well-structured account of the client's scope comprehension, project approach, and team qualifications, with each scored section crafted to hold up under rigorous review.

  • Renderings and animations produced a vivid, professional visualization of the proposed building addition, enabling the owner to connect the client's construction plan to a concrete visual outcome before ground was broken.

  • Presentation design and coaching prepared the client team to enter the oral selection phase with a polished, well-rehearsed presentation and the composure to deliver it effectively under evaluator scrutiny.

The client went into the selection phase with a complete, professional pursuit package and a team prepared to represent their capabilities at the level the project demanded.
