Project Overview

Millsaps College's proposed fieldhouse in Jackson, Mississippi, represented a significant investment in the school's athletic and campus infrastructure. At approximately $17.4 million, the project encompassed dedicated locker rooms for football and soccer teams, coach locker rooms, weight training facilities, spectator restrooms, and a concession stand on the ground level. The second floor added coach and support staff offices, conference rooms, and a multi-purpose event space capable of accommodating a minimum of 250 guests. Two distinct delivery options shaped the pursuit scope. The client engaged PRESWERX to build a proposal package, renderings, and animations that made both options clear and compelling for the selection committee.

Client Challenges

The client faced the task of presenting a complex, two-option scope to an institutional owner with clarity and visual impact:

  • Communicating two distinct construction approaches, renovation versus new construction, as a single, coherent narrative that an owner could follow and evaluate

  • Translating architectural drawings into visuals a non-technical audience could understand before any construction began

  • Differentiating the client's team and approach in a competitive selection process where presentation quality mattered

Together, these challenges called for a pursuit package that was as strategic as it was visual.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a complete pursuit package tailored to the dual-option nature of the Millsaps Fieldhouse project. The team produced a comprehensive proposal document that walked the owner through both the renovation and new-construction scenarios, presenting each in a way that was accessible to a non-technical audience. Architectural renderings brought each option to life, capturing the locker rooms, weight training areas, second-floor offices, and event space at a level of detail that drawings alone could not convey. Animations gave the owner the ability to move through the proposed spaces and develop a genuine understanding of the full scope and character of the transformation.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the project as a communication challenge as much as a visual one, building each deliverable around the owner's need to evaluate two meaningfully different options side by side:

  • Structured the proposal narrative to present both the renovation and new-construction options with consistent depth, making direct comparison straightforward for the owner

  • Developed renderings that reflected the distinct character and program of each option, from locker room finishes to the second-floor event space and office layout

  • Produced animations that guided the owner through the proposed spaces in sequence, reinforcing scale and program in a format that static images could not replicate

The result was a pursuit package that gave the client a confident, organized way to present a genuinely complex project.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a full set of pursuit materials built to the standard a $17.4 million institutional project demands, with each piece working together to support the client's selection presentation:

  • The proposal document gave the client a structured, professional narrative that clearly walked the owner through both project options without requiring technical expertise to follow

  • Renderings provided the owner with a concrete visual understanding of the finished product, covering key program elements across both floors and both scenarios

  • Animations allowed the client to walk decision-makers through the proposed facility in a way that static visuals alone could not achieve, building spatial understanding and confidence in the design

The client went into the selection prepared to present a complex, two-option scope with clarity and confidence.
