Project Overview
The Martin County Design-Build High School was a $62 million new construction project in Williamston, North Carolina, procured by Martin County Schools through a designbuild delivery method. The District selected this approach to fast-track design and construction, delivering a high-quality, turn-key facility intended to expand educational opportunities for students across the region. The project placed a premium on communicating the team's design-build expertise and conveying the value of that delivery method to a public-sector owner. The client engaged PRESWERX to produce proposal materials, a selection presentation, and targeted presentation coaching to prepare the team for the interview.

Client Challenges
The client needed to communicate a design-build approach to a public-sector owner that may have had limited familiarity with the process, while standing out in a competitive qualifications-based selection:
Translating the efficiency and cost-benefit advantages of design-build delivery into a clear, accessible narrative for a public school district evaluating the method for the first time
Differentiating the team in a competitive qualifications process where multiple firms were likely to offer comparable technical credentials
Preparing for a live selection interview with a public-sector panel and ensuring the team could deliver its message confidently under pressure
The client needed a pursuit strategy that aligned proposal, presentation, and delivery into a single, persuasive story.

Scope of Work
PRESWERX developed a full pursuit package for the Martin County Design-Build High School, covering proposal content, a selection presentation, and presentation coaching. The proposal materials were structured to respond directly to the District's Statements of Qualifications requirements, communicating the client's design-build experience and its capacity to deliver a fast-tracked, high-quality educational facility. The selection presentation was built to translate complex delivery concepts into clear, accessible language suited to a public-sector evaluation panel. PRESWERX then led the client's team through focused preparation sessions, sharpening messaging, anticipating evaluator questions, and building the team's confidence before the live interview.

PRESWERX Approach
PRESWERX treated this pursuit as a communication challenge: the client's qualifications were strong, but they had to be expressed in terms that resonated with a public owner evaluating design-build for the first time.
Structured the proposal narrative around the District's stated priorities, including fast-track delivery, cost efficiency, and educational quality, to ensure alignment between the submission and the evaluation criteria
Designed the selection presentation to demystify the design-build process and position the client's team as the lowest-risk, highest-value choice for the District
Conducted rehearsal sessions focused on confident delivery, consistent messaging, and handling panel questions from non-technical public-sector evaluators
The result was a client team that entered the selection with aligned messaging, polished materials, and the composure to perform at the highest level.
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package held to the standard of a competitive, public-sector design-build selection, where clarity and credibility carried as much weight as technical qualifications.
The proposal addressed the District's evaluation criteria directly, giving panel members a clear path to scoring the submission and a compelling reason to advance the team
The selection presentation translated complex design-build concepts into plain language, making the client's approach straightforward to evaluate and hard to overlook
Presentation coaching brought the team to the interview as a cohesive, confident unit, prepared to reinforce the proposal's core message and field panel questions with authority
The client went into the selection ready, aligned, and equipped with materials that represented their capabilities at the highest level.
