Project Overview

Florida International University pursued the development of a multifaith chapel on its main Miami campus, positioned on the lake adjacent to the Ronald W. Reagan Presidential House. The project carried a value of $15.5 million and encompassed a main worship space for 250 persons, private offices for multifaith community leaders, smaller group meeting rooms, a 24/7 reflection room, and a bell tower specified by the gift agreement. The client served as general contractor and needed a pursuit package that could honor the weight and symbolism of the project. PRESWERX partnered with the client's team to develop the full suite of visual and presentation assets for the selection.

Client Challenges

The client faced the challenge of presenting a deeply symbolic, community-centered project to a university owner with high expectations for design quality and spiritual resonance:

  • Conveying the chapel's multifaith character and ceremonial significance through visuals that matched the project's purpose and lakeside campus setting.

  • Visualizing a complex, multi-room program, including the main worship space, private offices, group meeting rooms, and a 24/7 reflection room, as a cohesive whole.

  • Preparing the client's team to present a sensitive, values-driven project with the precision and confidence required for a competitive university selection.

Together, these challenges demanded a pursuit approach that went beyond standard construction visuals to capture the meaning of the building itself.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced a comprehensive pursuit package for the FIU Trish and Dan Bell Chapel selection. The team developed architectural renderings that captured the chapel's exterior, including the bell tower, and its relationship to the lakeside campus setting. Animations brought the project's spatial flow and spiritual character to life, moving through the program from the main 250-seat worship space to the smaller meeting rooms and reflection areas. PRESWERX also built the client's presentation materials and delivered direct presentation coaching, preparing the team to speak to both the construction scope and the deeper purpose of the project.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX recognized that the chapel demanded a different kind of visual storytelling, one that communicated atmosphere and intention alongside program and scale.

  • Developed renderings that captured the chapel's exterior presence, its lakeside setting, and the bell tower as specified in the gift agreement.

  • Created animations that moved through the building's program, conveying the spatial character of the worship space, meeting rooms, and reflection room.

  • Coached the client's presenters to deliver a narrative that connected construction expertise to the project's multifaith purpose and community significance.

The work positioned the client as a team that understood what the project meant, not just what it cost.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a full pursuit package calibrated to the complexity and significance of a multifaith chapel on a major university campus.

  • Renderings gave the owner a concrete visual reference for the chapel's exterior, bell tower, and lakeside presence on FIU's main campus.

  • Animations communicated the building's interior program and spiritual character in a format suited for a live selection presentation.

  • Presentation coaching prepared the client's team to deliver a precise, confident narrative appropriate for a values-driven, $15.5 million university project.

The client's team entered the selection ready to speak to both the construction scope and the meaning behind it.
